Hi, my name is Paul Worrall. I just want to start with a little bit about myself and my musical journey so far and why you should consider me as a Pino teacher for yourself or your child.
I started learning to play piano at the age of 5 under numerous private teachers around the Blackpool area. Most noteworthy was Ray Wilks (a very well respected jazz musician who has now sadly passed). I studied music at high school and completed a BA (hons) in contemporary music at UCLAN in 2001.
I have worked all over the UK as a keyboard/piano player as well as abroad for Thomson (Tui) holidays at their 5 star Sensatori resorts where I performed as part of the resident duo but also within the large productions they put on.
In 2010 I formed a regional function band called the Keytars which continues to be popular for weddings and parties as well as pubs and clubs all around the north west.
For the past 10 years my full time job during the day has been an e-commerce specialist, (basically selling things online) but more recently I have decided to split my time between this and my teaching.
I like to split lessons in two. Usually, half of the lesson focuses on music that genuinely interests the student. The second half I like to use Trinity college of Londons Rock and Pop course. This course is great for students who prefer to progress their piano by mastering more contemporary songs by acts like Coldplay and Adele. Performance is at the heart of Trinity’s Rock & Pop Keyboards exams: whether self-taught or taking lessons, learning for fun or heading for a career in the music industry, these exams will help you develop valuable playing skills and achieve your musical ambitions. They are fully graded and certificates are issued if the student takes the exams.
